Annual Best Wildlife Garden Competition

We believe that every green space in Cromer is important for wildlife – none more so than our own gardens.

This competition – introduced in 2021 – is looking to find the best wildlife gardens for nature in our town.  Big or small, your whole garden or just special corners all qualify.

A successful wildlife garden will have three key features:

Food                               Water                              Shelter

Food:  nectar/pollen rich plants and flowers for insects, berry bearing bushes and bird-feeders

Water:  a pond for frogs/toads, bird-bath and hedgehog drinking dishes

Shelter:  trees and shrubs, bird-boxes, bug/bee hotels, stick pile

The competition runs each spring starting with entries in March, judging in July and prize giving in August.

By far the biggest green space in Cromer is all our gardens added together; therefore, the biggest winner will be our local wildlife.
